The One To NYC (again)...

Our home now has a washer and dryer and two refrigerators (thanks to the Harris' and Granny). Last weekend, we bought a mattress, a bedroom group, and a dining room table and chairs. The rest (living room furniture and etc.) will have to come at a later date. It has been nice to see Amanda settle in to our future living quarters and see the place take shape. The house was nice to begin with and I only see better things coming once we're married and I move in. We're on the final stretch run until the biggest day of my life - I've never been shy about being dramatic - and I feel things are going as smoothly as can be. We took on a lot with buying the house and planning the wedding, but Amanda and I have been really good at dividing up the things we can do together and things that are better left for girls to handle (wedding dress, and pretty much all of the important decision that go along with wedding planning). There's some guy things to do, too. For example...

Today...me, Tony, and Howard will be making our way to NYC again to see our beloved Yankees play the Cleveland Indians in game three of the 2007 ALDS. We got spanked the first game so hopefully we can pull it together and be somewhat competitive the rest of the series. It has been a tumultuous year to say the least.

The trip last year was refreshing for the soul. Three guys roaming the streets of the Big Apple looking for pizza parlors, scrambling around to make a rained-out game and then a daytime game that was stupendously cold and left Yankees fans dejected. On paper, it would seem that the highlight of this year's trip would be the game and how we got amazing seats, but what proved to be the lasting memory of last year's trip was the time these three clumsy guys shared together. We often reminisce about how miserable we all felt standing in different subways while soaked in the October rains; how our feet killed us walking through the majestic beauty of Central Park; and how we just walked aimlessly around the mystique that is NYC. The trip was just downright fun and memorable. Not for the Yankees game or even for the countless pizza slices we ate...but for the brotherhood we shared. I'm thankful for my two brothers. Go Yanks!!!
