The One About To Fall...

Things have been pretty busy recently and time has been all but sparse. The upcoming weeks will prove to be the same, if not busier, and then the next thing you know...Amanda will become Mrs. Kan and I'll be the beneficiary of a wonderful wife-to-be. Just a quick recap and some things on the horizon before the wedding on November 10:

  • Amanda and I finally got to take a sweet ride on the Harris' family boat - it was a grand time. We also picked out a song for the montage to be shown at our wedding reception. Furthermore, we narrowed down some other important wedding details (reception food, wedding colors, agenda for the big day, invitations, and that I should just stay out of Amanda's way when it comes to wedding decisions - the girl is on the warpath and she's not looking back - phew...I found me a keeper!!!)

  • Softball season has started, but unfortunately my reoccurring tendinitis in my right elbow has reared its ugly head again. All that throwin' and racquetballin' has finally taken its toll my my ever aging body. I hope it goes away soon so I can reconvene with both activities instead of just one. Until then, riding the two-wheeler it is.

  • Chris H. (Katherine Elizabeth's smiling husband) and I drove up to Nashville - and drove back the next morning - so that I could sing in a 40-person choir for one of Andrew Peterson's new songs on his upcoming album. Definitely one of the coolest things I've done in life. My name will appear in the linear notes as "Hank Kan."

  • Closing on our house on September 21.

  • We bought a washer, dryer, and refrigerator - they cost a lot of money.

  • We have to finish our wedding registries so that our very kind friends and family can "shower" us with gifts. Possibly a total of five showers to attend!!! I don't know if we'll be able to handle all that attention.

  • I'm travelling to TN and VA on business during times where I would prefer to stay in town. I hope I get to see some pretty foliage at least.

  • Captain D's Seafood is so incredibly yummy and amazing that it'll even make you feel good about being slaughtered after your first softball game of the season. Those crunchy things that come with the fish - whoo hoo!!!

I can sense the temperature falling ever so slightly to a cool retreat in the evenings and mornings. Get out and enjoy the wonderful beauty that is God's creation. I can't wait 'till the arrival of the fall season. From this point on, I will always remember that this time of year will not only be about temperatures and leaves changing, but also the time in my life where all things become anew as God's will for us unfurls. As if I needed more reason to make fall my favorite time of the year...if not my life. All I need now is a pile of fallen leaves to jump into...

Be free,

~KH
