The One Where I Got Hitched...

I'm sitting in the lobby of our pre-destination honeymoon spot The Hyatt Regency in Alpharetta, GA. The hotel is one of the coolest and best I've stayed at. We've got a 42" HD LCD TV in our room and the contemporary style of the entire hotel is just way nice. Even the kitchen area where we get breakfast is like home. Amanda just left and said I was crazy for getting in an entry during our honeymoon. We're getting ready to depart for church at Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North.

Let me give a super quick summary of the big day before Amanda comes down from the fifth floor to pound on me (not that she would ever do that but this could be a great opportunity to). Well...we were officially married yesterday around 11:00 AM. The winds blew...the air was brisk, but nothing took away from the beauty of Amanda in her elegant white dress. There were two points where I almost lost it to tears. First seeing Amanda walk out with Buddy and then when I hugged my dad. Everything went super smoothly. Buddy and Chad did an outstanding job during the ceremony. I think Tonya cried but I didn't want to look at her (or my dad) to save myself from crying any more. She looked so nice in her outfit and my dad looked way handsome. Tony and Howard took close to 1,200 pictures the entire time they were up there, and Julie did an impeccable job of queuing the music. The grandparents reveled in the joy of the special day and the rest in attendance (family and close friends) shared in the great moment, too. To all who had a hand in the wedding day (and reception - Tommy and Janice) and all the days leading up to it by encouraging us and loving us...thank you, thank you, thank you. Not just for the overflowing bundle of presents and money, but for showing that you care and for the honor and privilege it has been to have been on this incredible ride with y'all.

Thank you, Dad and Mom, for raising me the way you have. Thank you, Tony and Julie, for being there for me everyday since we've been in Tallahassee. Thank you, Howard, for being ever-so-steady as a friend...but more a brother. Thank you, Buddy, Tonya, Chad, Charles, Mae, Irene, who I can officially call my family now. And to all the peeps in Tallahassee, Albany, my co-workers - I thank you all, too!!!

Amanda, I love you so much. It has been a great first day in our marriage and I can't wait to show you my love forever. Lord Jesus, thank you ultimately for your perfect plan, grace, and love. For none of this would matter without You. Peace and blessings, everyone. We're off to our real honeymoon!!!
