The One With Wedding Stuff...

I was asked by Amanda's mom to write a little blurb - about me and Amanda - that people will get to read who attend our wedding. Since it's going to be a small ceremony, there will be many that won't get to see it. Below, you will find the blurb in its entirety and a link to the slideshow that will be shown during our reception. Hope y'all enjoy...

Love begins with a decision. A decision that clings to every heartbeat. It begs for kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. There's no end...so when you choose, you choose to love as He loved His bride. It's a culmination of emotions and desires that have been churning since you were a little boy or girl. Not the age when boys had cooties and girls had Barbie dolls --- it's that first time you wanted to write a note to say "I like you" and ask if he or she would like to go to the rollerskating party with you. Instead, shyness took over and the note found a home in nerve-wracked and sweaty hands. You see, that very moment - in the still - a tinge of love peeked into a heart so innocent and pure. The road to love is different for everyone, but when you make that decision to love, make it for a lifetime and commit for eternity.

On December 1, 2006, Amanda took a bold step for the ages. Her sweet and gentle spirit traversed an uncertain path that was only certain to God. A boy, who in his jovial and reclusive nature, was awakened by a stir of echoes. Her seemingly perfect plan worked out tremendously. Fashioned by her southern grace and smile, she captivated his boyish charm to where he one day asked her to marry him at the very place where God had prepared his steadfast heart for love. A rickety dock that was once home to his many teary-eyed prayers of hope and peace became a majestic place for their memories to begin. There was no more looking back as they stepped forth to the wonderment of His provisions.

Thank you for being a part of our special day where we celebrated that very decision that brought us together. We are so wonderfully blessed by our family and friends. We can't thank you all enough for the beautiful way you have weaved your threads into our lives. These woven threads of love have changed the fabric to which we are made for one another and Christ Jesus.
